By Liza de Guia

“Honestly, I don’t even know if people know they are a fish, sometimes.”

Meet Renae Holland, the co-founder of Bon Chovie, a fresh seafood pop-up based in Brooklyn, New York. It seems silly to think that some people don’t realize anchovies are fish. To me, it’s pretty obvious. For Renae, it’s a problem – an educational obstacle she welcomes, gladly. Week after week, it’s her job to convince people that anchovies aren’t just the smelly, slimy, salty, dark pieces of mush they’re used to. She …read more

Not long ago, I took you behind the scenes to see how Anita’s Creamline Coconut Yogurt was “frankensteined”. Here is the recipe for the beautiful trifle seen in the episode. The cake is so soft and incredibly moist, thanks to the addition of yogurt in the recipe.

I have nothing but sympathy for anyone trying to get a new food venture off the ground. There has been a tsunami of openings over the last few years and every avenue has been explored in the search for a hook to differentiate you from the herd in Leeds and beyond.

I’m in Nashville at the moment, a really thriving city with the music and restaurant scenes driving a healthy local and tourist economy. The explosion of celebrity chef restaurants and super hip eateries makes choosing a place to eat difficult to say the least.

Yesterday I enjoyed my favourite meal of …read more

here is my version you may wanna try, kind of an all natural best of version I think…. Make your lime aid as described, subing half cup agave syrup for sugar. instead of orange liquor, i use half cup fresh squeezed mango juice and make it part of my mixer. this makes about 3 cups mixer, or just under, to which I add 3/4 cup clear tequila. I like it in a salted margarita glass over crushed ice, garnished with two thin slices of lime, a pinch of margarita salt on top of the ice center glass, …read more
